HealthLine Program - Home Hemodialysis Conference Call & Webinar

Tampa, FL; December 19, 2011 - The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) today announced it’s partnership with NxStage Medical Inc. to host an AAKP HealthLine combined conference call and webinar. AAKP is the leading patient education organization who’s dedicated to improving the lives of fellow patients by helping them deal with the physical, emotional and social impact of kidney disease. The program takes place January 25, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. ET.

AAKP HealthLine is one of many FREE educational programs provided by AAKP. It is a one-hour conference call and webinar designed to educate participants on a variety of topics affecting kidney disease patients and their families. The conference call and simultaneous webinar feature kidney health care experts from across the country and provide participants with the convenience of gaining knowledge from the comfort of their home or office. Time is provided at the end of each call for participant questions.

The topic of the next AAKP HealthLine combined conference call and webinar is Home Hemodialysis: Helping Patients Lead a Healthier Life! The program takes place Wednesday, January 25, 2012, from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. ET. The program’s goal is to educate individuals on the convenience and lifestyle benefits of home hemodialysis, as well as the overall health and medical benefits dialyzing at home provides.

Speakers include Michael Alan Kraus, MD, Professor of Clinical Medicine and Clinical Coordinator of the Division of Nephrology at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is also Medical Director of the Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), Hemodialysis and Acute Dialysis Units. Brian Hess, a former peritoneal dialysis patient, who is now training for home hemodialysis. Also, Joe Karan, a home hemodialysis patient for more than two years.
