CE Credits Available for Health Care Professionals

Tampa, FL; July 26, 2010 – The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is pleased to offer continuing education (CE) credits to registered nurses, dietitians, licensed social workers and nursing home administrators who attend its 2010 Annual Convention in Tampa, Fla. This year’s program is held at the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina, Sept. 2 – 4. Convention registrations for health care professionals begin at only $190 for a full registration package or only $50 for one day registrations.

“The AAKP Convention is a great forum for health care professionals to receive continuing education credits,” states Laurie Shore, MSW, LCSW, AAKP Board Member and 2010 Convention Committee Member. “Convention not only has leading physicians and other professionals teaching the latest information on kidney care, but also provides participating health care professionals with something invaluable - being educated directly by patients and hearing what it’s like to actually be a patient.”

This year, AAKP is offering three educational tracks to participate in: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD/Pre-dialysis) Track, ESRD (Dialysis) Track and Transplantation Track. This new agenda will offer both patients and health care professionals with the opportunity to participate in the educational sessions that most interest them.

For more information on the AAKP Convention, CE credits or to download a Convention Registration Brochure please call (800) 749-2257 or visit www.aakp.org/events/convention/2010. Deadline for early registration is Aug. 16. Full Convention registration cost cover three-days of educational sessions, a tote bag, souvenir t-shirt, and tickets to the First Time Attendees Luncheon, Welcoming Ceremonies and Annual Banquet.
