Register for Upcoming HealthLine Calls

Tampa, Fla., May 5, 2008 – The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is continuing one of its most successful patient education programs, AAKP HealthLine, with two upcoming conference calls.

AAKP HealthLine is a FREE one-hour conference call designed to educate kidney patients and their family members on a variety of topics related to kidney disease. Conference calls feature kidney healthcare experts from across the country and provide participants with the convenience of gaining knowledge from the comfort of their home or office. Time is provided at the end of each call for participant questions.

“We’ve had great participation from kidney patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals with this program,” said Kris Robinson, AAKP Executive Director/CEO. “We know participants are gaining a great deal of knowledge about how to better care for themselves and their loved ones.”

The next AAKP HealthLine conference call is scheduled for June 25, and is titled Understanding Your Kidney Treatment Options. Featured speakers are renowned nephrologists Eli Friedman, MD; Christopher Blagg, MD; and Thomas Peters, MD, FACS, FASN. AAKP will also host a call July 15 titled Understanding the Connection: Anemia and Iron Deficiency. This call is led by nephrologist Jay Wish, MD. Both calls take place from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. ET. AAKP would like to thank AMAG Pharmaceuticals, Inc., for sponsoring both calls.
