Tampa, Fla., May 9, 2007 – The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is pleased to announce Roberta Wager, RN, MSN, has been invited to join the combined Steering Committee/Technical Panel (TAP) for the National Quality Forum (NQF) project, National Voluntary Consensus Standards for End Stage Renal Disease Care. Mrs. Wager is the president of AAKP, a registered renal nurse and health educator, and a two time kidney transplant recipient.

The project’s goal is to identify and endorse measures for public accountability and quality improvement related to ESRD care at both the facility and physician level.

The panel also hopes to achieve voluntary consensus on a set of performance measures that can be used to assess the quality of ESRD care in the United States. The project is funded by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

“Bobbi has a wealth of knowledge as both a renal professional and patient that will be extremely valuable to the project,” says Kris Robinson, AAKP Executive Director & CEO. “Bobbi’s participation allows the patient’s voice to be heard in this important health endeavor.”
