AAKP Announces Special Limited Time Patient/Family Membership Offer During the Holiday Season

TAMPA, Fla. Nov. 30, 2006 -- The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP), a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping kidney patients and their loved ones live more productive lives, has announced a special, limited-time Patient/Family Membership opportunity.  Friends and family members in the kidney community can now purchase two AAKP Patient/Family Memberships for only $30.

This offer allows for the purchase of either two holiday gift memberships, or for current members to renew their membership and include a friend or family member for only five dollars more than the regular price.  The offer ends Jan. 31, 2007, and is not applicable to professional, physician, institutional or life membership rates.

“With the holiday season approaching, this is a unique opportunity for patients, friends and family members to give the special gift of AAKP membership.  We look forward to many people taking advantage of our holiday offer,” said AAKP Executive Director and CEO Kris Robinson.

The dedication and support that members provide is essential to the fulfillment of AAKP’s goals and mission.  Members receive such benefits as: automatic subscriptions to our nationally recognized magazines, aakpRENALIFE and Kidney Beginnings: The Magazine; optional subscriptions to our electronic newsletters, Kidney Beginnings: The Electronic Newsletter, Renal Flash, Kidney Transplant Today, and Public Policy Briefing; access to our online resources, including AAKP My Health; and automatic enrollment in the nearest AAKP local chapter (where available).  AAKP members are always the first to receive information about AAKP’s programs and events, such as the Annual Convention.

New members who receive the gift of membership will enjoy a welcoming letter notifying them that a gift of membership was purchased exclusively on their behalf, as well as a packet with samples of some of our most requested publications and their very own AAKP member ID card.

For more information on the benefits of membership, visit the membership page of the AAKP Web site:  www.aakp.org/membership, or call and request an application: 800-749-AAKP.
