AAKP Selects Orlando as 2006 Convention Site

TAMPA, Fla. November 29, 2005 – The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is pleased to announce the selection of Orlando, Fla., as the host city for its 33rd Annual Convention. The event will be held Aug. 31 - Sept. 3, 2006, at the Renaissance Orlando Resort at Sea World®.

AAKP created its Annual Convention to provide kidney disease patients, along with their friends and families, the opportunity to discuss their concerns and share their experiences while learning about important issues affecting their health care. It is the largest national convention where kidney patients can interact on person-to-person basis with fellow patients, as well as health care professionals.

During the event, attendees participate in educational topics for those with chronic kidney disease (CKD) to long-term dialysis and transplant patients. In addition, they learn about various treatments for each stage of kidney disease.

“We are excited to head back to Florida for our 2006 Convention,” said AAKP Executive Director and CEO, Kris Robinson. “After the success of this year’s Convention, we expect it to be one of our largest events to date.”

For more information or to join the Convention mailing list, contact the AAKP National Office at (800) 749-2257 or click here.

AAKP is the voluntary, patient organization, which for more than 35 years, has been dedicated to improving the lives of fellow kidney patients and their families by helping them deal with the physical, emotional and social impact of kidney disease. The programs offeredby AAKP inform and inspire patients and their families to better understand their condition, adjust more readily to their circumstances, and assume more normal, productive lives in their communities.
