TAMPA, Fla. December 1, 2004 – The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is pleased to announce the release of a Spanish version of the AAKP Nutrition Counter, titled “El Mostrador De Nutrición AAKP: Una Guía De Referencia Para El Paciente Con Una Afección Renal.”
Like the English version, “AAKP Nutrition Counter: A Reference for the Kidney Patient,” the pocket-sized brochure provides nutritional values – protein, calorie, sodium, potassium and phosphorus levels – for more than 300 commonly used foods, as well as menu items from 11 fast food restaurants. The 24-page brochure is an excellent guide to help kidney patients develop a proper meal plan.
Numerous renal dietitians and nutritionists approved the free brochure. Development and distribution is made possible through a generous educational grant provided by Shire.
