TAMPA, Fla. March 1, 2004 –The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is accepting nominations for its 2004-2006 Board of Directors. The elections will be held in July, with members seated in September during AAKP’s Annual Convention. Board members serve two-year terms. Nominations must be submitted by May 21, 2004. The AAKP Board of Directors is responsible for establishing the goals and policies for the Association. Directors are responsible for attending three meetings per year, which may require traveling, participation in conference calls as needed and committee membership. In keeping with the bylaws of AAKP, over 50 percent of the AAKP Board is comprised of patients. The president must also be a kidney patient. Nominees must be paid-to-date members of the Association.
