Improved Nutrition After Switching to Nocturnal Home Hemodialysis

Researchers found switching patients to nocturnal home hemodialysis treatments had a positive effect on their nutritional state.  Patients could drink more fluids, and their appetite and energy level improved.  Protein, serum phosphate, calcium and potassium intake increased, and lab results were excellent without the need for phosphate binders.  The results appear in the Journal of Renal Nutrition
