Tip of the Month: Suitable Summer Fruit Choices

Summer is the time when many delicious fruits are at peak season. Since many fruits are high in potassium, it's important to know which fruits are suitable for your diet. Here's a guide to help you know which fruits contain low, medium and high amounts of potassium:

  • Low Potassium Fruits (Less than 150mg per serving): Blueberries, grapes, raspberries, strawberries, tangerines, pineapple, small apple
  • Medium Potassium Fruits (150mg - 300mg per serving): Dates (4), medium kiwi, medium peach or pear, tomato, plums, orange, watermelon
  • High Potassium Fruits (more than 300mg per serving): Apricots, bananas, honeydew melon, mango, nectarine, cantaloupe, papaya

Cool down during the sizzling summer with limited amounts of these fresh fruits.
