Online Video About Hyperphosphatemia on AAKP Web Site

AAKP is excited to announce the availability of a new online video about hyperphosphatemia on its Web site, www.aakp.org

This new video, by Shire Pharamaceuticals, features information about hyperphosphatemia and how it affects kidney patients, as well as a cooking demonstration by celebrity chef, Katie Lee Joel, and scenes from the 2006 AAKP Annual Convention in Orlando, FL.

Hyperphosphatemia is a condition in which phosphorus levels in the blood rise and can be associated with serious illness, mineral deposits in heart and blood vessels, bone disease and death. People who have kidney disease have to watch  how much phosphorus they take in from food and beverages because the kidneys can no longer filter out excess phosphorus.
