AAKP encourages patients, caregivers and health care professionals to submit nominations for its 2009-2010 National Board of Directors. Elections are held in July, with new members seated at the 36th Annual AAKP Convention in September. The deadline to submit nominations is May 22, 2009.
 
The AAKP Board of Directors is responsible for establishing goals and policies for the Association. Board members must attend three meetings per year, participate in conference calls and committee membership.
