Research presented at the American Society of Nephrology's Annual Meeting found undergoing hemodialysis for eight hours overnight, three times per week reduces the risk of death by almost 80 percent, compared to conventional, four-hour dialysis.
Patients receiving overnight hemodialysis had better blood pressure control, fewer hospitalizations, took less medications and reported a better quality of life than those on conventional in-center hemodialysis.
