The Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition (ESRD Network 5) has partnered with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) to present the preconference, Hospice and Palliative Care for Dialysis Patients: Past Success, Remaining Challenges. The event is held September 22-23 in Denver, CO, preceding the NHPCO 2009 Clinical Team Conference. Renal clinicians, patients, families, social workers and others in the renal community are encouraged to attend.
 
The program will present a thorough assessment of the barriers that prevent dying end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients from receiving palliative care and hospice they need, review regulations, feature innovative partnerships and programs, and provide participants with tools to increase access to care for the dialysis population.
