NxStage Medical, Inc. recently announced public access to current information from a registry of NxStage patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The patients include those who receive home hemodialysis on a more frequent or daily basis. The registry hopes to show home dialysis as an alternative to the conventional in-center therapy.
The registry features statistics about home hemodialysis such as quality of life, survival rates, transplant rates and distance to dialysis centers for home dialysis training. It is believed to be the largest database of its kind.
