Information Needed for Kidney Allocation Concepts

The Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) have developed a Kidney Transplantation Committee to improve national policy for the allocation of deceased donor kidneys. As part of the process, the Committee is seeking public input on concepts that may be useful in developing policy proposals.

The Committee encourages anyone interested in kidney allocation to respond through a Request for Information. Questions are asked on the following concepts:

  • Donor Profile Index (DPI)
  • Life Years from Transplant (LYFT)
  • Dialysis Time (DT)
  • Solutions to limitations in kidney allocation policy

For more information, please visit the OPTN Web site.
