AAKP recently welcomed two transplant recipients to its National Board of Directors. These new board members are Jess Arceneaux (Florida) and Richard Knight (Maryland). They join Brady Augustine (Florida) Mansi Mehta, RD, LDN (Illinois) and Cheryl Thaxton-Roache, ARNP-C (Florida) who were seated at the 2008 AAKP Annual Convention in September. The new Board members will serve two-year terms.
The AAKP National Board of Directors is responsible for establishing goals and policies for the Association. In keeping with the bylaws of the Association, more than 50 percent of the Board of Directors must be comprised of kidney disease patients. The president must also be a patient.
