Study Seeks to Wean Transplant Recipients Off Anti-Rejection Drugs

A new study conducted by Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine plans to transplant stem cells from a kidney donor's bone marrow into the recipient, in hopes of eventually eliminating the need for anti-rejection drugs.

If successful, post-transplant quality of life for the transplant recipient would be dramatically changed.
