According to new research, continuous monitoring of very low doses of anti-rejection medication in kidney transplant recipients may make a significant difference in long-term survival. Several studies presented at the American Association for Clinical Chemistry annual meeting, aimed to lower doses of tacrolimus and other immunosuppressive drugs after transplant. Lowering the doses of these drugs without the risk of rejection minimizes the long-term toxicity.
