Kidney Beginnings: The Magazine
Cover Story: This section of the magazine covers a variety of topics for kidney disease patients from chronic kidney disease (CKD) risk factors to diagnosis and managing side effects.

Patient Profile: Feature articles chronicle the stories of inspirational patients who have been able to resume healthy, productive lives while managing their kidney disease.

Feature Article: Includes AAKP news and articles of interest for patients, their families and health care professionals. This section also deals with issues patients and their families may experience while managing and treating the disease.

Dear Doctor: This section features a question from a kidney patient, which is answer by a by a highly qualified physician. Question topics vary greatly, touching on issues such as diabetes and hypertension.

Diet Tips & Bits: Is devoted to managing and adhering to renal and diabetic diets. It includes articles by renal dietitians, recipes and healthy living tips for patients and their families.

Costs for Section Sponsorship are per issue and include a 3.5” L x 2.0” W print of the company logo. A description of the sponsorship accompanies the logo.

The AAKP Web site provides kidney disease patients, family members, health care professionals and the public at large with relevant, up-to-date and carefully selected information on kidney disease and its related co-morbid conditions. The site is divided into disease specific section, allowing user to navigate through hassel free. The site also contains a FREE online health record tool, My Health, which allows anyone to store their health information in a secure online location.

AAKP Electronic Newsletters

A growing number of patients, family members and health care providers, currently more than 11,500, receive AAKP’s electronic newsletters. The Association published four newsletters – AAKP Renal Flash, Kidney Transplant Today, Kidney Beginnings: The Electronic Newsletters and Diet, Tips & Bits. Sponsorship of AAKP’s electronic newsletters includes a company logo and link to the company’s Web site.

AAKP Survey Panel

The American Association of Kidney Patients has created a Survey Panel. Participants represent a wide range of individuals affected by kidney disease, including patients, family members and health care professionals. The Panel is geared toward making it easy for organizations to find out what kidney patients and their caregivers think about a company’s product or service.
