The next Kidney Beginnings: Live program takes place Sept. 27, 2008, in Jackson, Miss. Kidney Beginnings: Live is a free program that educates individuals about the basics of kidney disease and proper kidney care.
Some of the topics discussed include:
- What the kidneys are, what they do and how to care for them;
- Managing conditions that may lead to chronic kidney disease (CKD);
- Side effects and challenges CKD patients face, such as anemia;
- And diet management.
Programs last about three hours and feature presentations by healthcare professionals. Attendees also have the opportunity to ask questions in an open forum setting.
