AAKP Honors NBA Star for Dedication to Kidney Community

To recognize his extraordinary commitment to raising awareness of chronic kidney disease (CKD), AAKP presented NBA All-Star, Alonzo Mourning, with the AAKP Life Membership Award.
 
The presentation took place Wednesday, March 5 in Miami, during the half time show between the Miami HEAT basketball team and the Toronto Raptors.
 
Mourning is a kidney transplant recipient. In 2000, he was diagnosed with focal glomerulsclerosis. Since that time, he has used his celebrity status to promote kidney disease awareness.
