High Doses of Lipitor Reduces Heart Attack and Stroke Risk in CKD Patients

New data published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found aggressive treatment with Pfizer's Lipitor® can help reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).  During the study, patients who took 80 mg of Lipitor reduced their risk of stroke and heart attack by 32 percent compared to those who took only 10 mg of the drug.

Lipitor is a prescription medication used to lower cholesterol.
