A study published in The American Journal of Kidney Diseases found men with chronic kidney disease (CKD), not requiring dialysis have an increased risk of hip fracture similar to that of dialysis patients.
Patients with CKD have disturbances in mineral metabolism. Those requiring dialysis therapy are at substantially increased risk of fracture.
