Company Discontinues Inhaled Insulin

Novo Nordisk A/S has discontinued its experimental AERx inhaler because the product failed to offer a clinical benefit. The company is now targeting simplicity in the diabetes market by beginning clinical trials on pen-sized devices that deliver insulin through tiny needles.
