NKDEP Makes Health a Family Affair

The National Kidney Disease Education Program (NKDEP) has created the Family Reunion Health Guide to help individuals learn how to discuss kidney disease and conditions, such as diabetes and hypertension, that may lead to kidney disease at family reunions. The guide contains examples of how to approach family members and educational information for you to share at your next family reunion.

The Family Reunion Health Guide is geared toward African-American families and is available on NKDEP's Web site, www.nkdep.nih.gov. The guide can also be downloaded from the site.

Kidney disease and conditions often leading to kidney disease run in families. Talk to your family about what they can do to protect their kidneys today!
