Each year during the Annual Convention, AAKP presents awards to individuals in the renal community who have demonstrated commitment to carrying out the mission of the Association. The awards are presented at the Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008.
This could be a patient who continually writes his/her Members of Congress demanding better care for dialysis patients, a patient who has overcome major obstacles and still remains positive, or an individual who educates other patients about kidney disease. This year, you have the opportunity to nominate these worthy individuals.
Awards categories include:
- Samuel J. Orenstein Award
- AAKP Patient Comeback of the Year Award
- AAKP Caregiver Award
- AAKP Volunteer of the Year
For more information about the AAKP Annual Awards or to receive a nomination packet, contact AAKP at (800) 749-AAKP or visit the AAKP Web site. Self nominations are encouraged. The deadline to submit nominations is June 30.
