AAKP supports the U.S. Senate in its passing of the Medicare bill (H.R. 6331) and for the inclusion of important end-stage renal disease (ESRD) provisions. The reform of the ESRD program will aid the millions of patients suffering from kidney failure.
AAKP has worked closely with Congressional staff to ensure issues such as quality of care, patient education and treatment payment are not overlooked.
This Medicare bill includes improvements such as:
- Revise the payment methodology for ESRD treatment;
- Provide an inflation update to account for critical staffing demands and services.
- Establish important education and prevention programs to help slow the progression of kidney disease and kidney failure;
