MedPAC Meets to Discuss Adequacy of Dialysis Payments

The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) met recently to discuss the adequacy of Medicare's payments for outpatient dialysis services.
 
Attendees examined information about the adequacy of current outpatient dialysis payments. Other topics discussed included:

  • Beneficiaries' access to care
  • Providers' capacity to furnish care
  • Changes in the volume of dialysis services
  • Quality of dialysis care
  • Providers' access to capital
  • Medicare's payments and costs in 2008
