The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed regulations aimed at allowing more Medicare beneficiaries with limited income and resources to remain in the prescription drug plan in which they are currently enrolled without having to pay a premium.
Beneficiaries with limited income and resources, and individuals who are eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, may qualify for extra help in paying for Part D premium and other costs through the low-income subsidy (LIS).
