Ninety-five percent of the participants in a recently released online poll said "healthcare in America needs fundamental change or to be completely rebuilt." The survey was conducted between January 14, 2008 and March 3, 2008.
The survey also found:

- 53 percent of Medicare beneficiaries who responded to the online poll said their medications were not covered by the program or unaffordable.
- 96 percent of respondents said they are somewhat or very concerned about their ability to afford health insurance.
- Almost one-third of respondents said their health insurers initially refused to cover a medical treatment for themselves or a family member they should have covered.
