As a patient, I am so excited by the new AAKP Web site. It has everything I need to help me be the leader of my team. Once you visit AAKP’s newest section, AAKP My Health™ you will be as excited as I am.

Now you can keep your monthly blood work values, information about your healthcare team – including contact information, notes from your doctors’ visits, questions for the next visit and much more. My favorite part is also learning important healthcare information when I input my test results. The site directs me to sections in which I can read more about what my values mean. It is so neat!

The quizzes are great too! I get the opportunity to test my knowledge on a host of subjects and then find out where I can get more information on the topic. It has provided me with a ton of information to be better informed and in control of my kidney disease.

I really like that I can keep a record of all my medications, when I started them and why I take them. I can print this list and take it with me when I visit my doctor. It also gives me a record I can check even if I’m not home. Let’s say I’m traveling and I have an emergency, I can download my information from any computer.

Most importantly all of this information is secure. Nobody but me has access to my health information. The usage section tells you how your information is stored and how it is secured.

I can’t tell you how this has changed how I keep my health information. I used to have a file folder that was, in all honesty, a horrible mess of paper work. Now, I just click on the AAKP My Health section of the AAKP Web site and there it all is.

I hope you find the site as valuable as I do. Let me know what you think!
