The Annual Convention is much more than educational sessions. Our social events enable attendees to interact with each other. Many attendees gain inspiration and a sense of camaraderie from the experiences they share with fellow patients, family members, caregivers and professionals. Social events are a highlighted attraction where we can always expect tremendous participation. This year, we have scheduled exciting social events into the Convention agenda.

First Time Attendees' Luncheon
The First Time Attendees' Luncheon is held Thursday, Aug. 28. First time Convention attendees who purchase a full Convention package are invited to this event. The luncheon includes an exciting meet-and-greet session and useful suggestions on how to make the most of your Convention experience. Additional tickets to this event may be purchased for $30.

AAKP Board of Directors' Welcome Reception
AAKP also hosts an AAKP Board of Directors' Welcome Reception during the evening of Thursday, Aug. 28. This event allows attendees a snea-peek at this year's exhibit hall.

Welcoming Ceremonies
AAKP's Welcoming Ceremonies, held on the evening of Friday, Aug. 29, marks the official commencement of the Annual Meeting. This reception features the famous costume contest with just the right mixture of music and food. This year's theme is the "70s." Get creative as the best costume wins a prize! Additional tickets to this event may be purchase for $50.

Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony
The equally festive Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony is an elegant evening where AAKP honors its volunteers for their steadfast service and devotion. The event is held the evening of Saturday, Aug. 30. Additional tickets to this event may be purchased for $50.

President's Breakfast
AAKP's President's Breakfast is a time to reflect on the past few days and absorb all that was learned. During the breakfast, AAKP's President addresses attendees and offers words of strength and encouragement while sharing AAKP's goals for the future. Additional tickets to this event may be purchased for $30.
