Submission Requirements

Submitting your story is easy.  Please complete the application and include an essay about why you should be the next face of the AAKP Says I Can! program.You may include photos with your submission, but it is not necessary.

Submission Requirements
The essay should be 800 words or less, and share the story of your life and how you are still able to do the things you did before dialysis or transplantation. Dialysis and kidney transplant patients are strongly encouraged to apply. 

Essays must be typed and electronic media is preferred. Microsoft Word is encouraged. If sending via mail, please include a hard copy along with the electronic media. Files can be sent via e-mail to expedite delivery. All address information is available on the AAKP Says I Can! submission form.

Deadline
The deadline to submit an application for AAKP Says I Can! is Feb. 15, 2008. Winners will be announced in March in honor of Kidney Disease Awareness Month.

The individuals selected receive a free 2008 Convention registration and complimentary lodging at the official Convention hotel in Washington, D.C. They will also have their picture and story featured on posters in dialysis units, transplant units and doctor’s offices throughout the country.
