Conference call topic:
Vitamin D Deficiency in Renal Patients

This conference call explains the role of Vitamin D, how the body utilizes it and complications faced by renal patients with Vitamin D deficiency. Information on the difference between natural Vitamin D and over the counter Vitamin D pills will also be discussed. Individuals will learn ways to protect themselves against and/or treat Vitamin D deficiency.

Daniel Coyne, MD
Dr. Coyne is a Professor of Medicine (Renal Disease), Director of Hemodialysis at the Chromalloy American Kidney Center and Director of the Medicine Multispecialty Clinics at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. His research interests include secondary hyperparathyroidism, Vitamin D, anemia management in chronic kidney disease and hypertension. Dr. Coyne is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and International Society of Nephrology.
