We know you give to help AAKP fund its important programs, but we want to make sure you're taking advantage of all the benefits available. There are so many options, it's challenging to find the right one. The AAKP depends heavily on private contributions from caring individuals. And every year, more of these donors are discovering the benefits of supporting AAKP through their estate plans.
These donations offer many advantages:
-
Reduce estate taxes
-
Provide a life income stream
-
Allow you to make a much larger gift than you thought possible
-
Receive a current income tax deduction
-
Reduce or avoid capital gains tax
-
Support the vital work of AAKP
Bequests
One of the most common ways to remember AAKP and help us carry on our programs is to leave a bequest through your will. Many loyal AAKP members leave legacy gifts ranging in size from $500 to more than $200,000 to AAKP. These generous gifts provide vital funding for AAKP’s programs and services and may reduce taxes for the donor.
Recent studies indicate that the average age of someone making a charitable gift in his or her will is 49. Most of us, however, begin much later in our lives before making serious consideration of how we would like our remaining funds utilized. Once a will is written, and charitable gifts are included through a percentage of the estate, many donors say they feel a sense of relief and accomplishment. They know that their favorite charities will receive a percentage of what is left, and family members and friends will still receive their intended gifts.
If you are just now thinking about writing a will or updating your will, and wish to include AAKP among your favorite charities, you need to know that our legal name is the American Association of Kidney Patients, Inc. and our address is 3505 East Frontage Road, Suite 315, Tampa, FL, 33607. Our Federal Tax ID number is 11-2306416.
