Thanks to the Patient Access Network Foundation's (PANF) Anemia Fund, treatment is now a reality for many anemia patients who cannot afford out-of-pocket medical expenses. This program is an expansion of PANF's operations to meet the needs of patients whose anemia is due to effects of serious disease or side effects of medication used to treat the disease.
Anemia is when there is a low amount of oxygen-carrying hemoglobin found in red blood cells. Symptoms of anemia include weakness, pale skin and exhaustion. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, anemia affects approximately 3.4 million Americans, including people from all ages and walks of life.
PANF is unaffiliated with any of its donors, dedicated to assisting insured patients who cannot afford the immense expenses associated with their treatment. PANF was created in response to a growing need to develop new solutions to assist the underinsured.
